Sophia Martin says it has been a dream come true to win the SWPL1 with Glasgow City, and has targeted a permanent first-team place with the champions.

The 16-year-old, from Cambuslang, was on the bench as City beat Rangers 1-0 at Ibrox on Sunday with a last-gasp strike by Lauren Davidson.

That pipped Celtic to the title, with Rangers also able to take the trophy had they beat City and Hearts won at Celtic Park.

But Davidson’s goal saw City crowned by two points over Celtic, in front of over 11,000 fans. Sophia’s mum Natalie Hall said: “The game was super exciting.
