Philippe Clement in ref demand as Rangers boss points to 'reckless' Hibs flashpoint amid danger tackle plea

Raging Rangers boss Philippe Clement has called for a zero-tolerance crackdown on danger tackles. The Ibrox gaffer reckons midfield ace John Lundstram was lucky to avoid serious injury after being caught by Hibs’ Nathan Moriah-Welsh’s “reckless” lunge at Easter Road.

Referee Steven McLean was quick to take firm action as he immediately flashed red at the Guyana international just two minutes after the hosts had also seen Jordan Obita dismissed for a second yellow.

But Clement - who also accused Motherwell’s Dan Casey of kicking Ross McCausland out of last week’s clash at Ibrox - reckons Scottish football needs to do more to stamp out high-risk challenges.

The Gers boss, who saw his side book a Scottish Cup semi-final slot thanks to goals from Lundstram and Fabio Silva - said: “The tackle was a few yards away from me.
