Rangers goal flashpoint sparks Aris Limassol UEFA fine as Europa League 'improper conduct' slapdown issued

Aris Limassol have been punished by UEFA following their Europa League draw with Rangers at Ibrox.

The Cypriot minnows took the lead in Glasgow as Shavy Babicka netted but Ross McCausland would climb off the bench to level the game - and send Aris crashing out at the group stage of the competition with no chance of reaching the Europa Conference League spot before the final round of fixtures. However, it was the protest following the second-half strike from the Northern Ireland international that has landed Aris in hot water with European football's governing body.

Referee Rohit Saggi was mobbed by the visiting players as they felt there had been a foul in the build-up to the leveller - however both the man in the middle and the VAR team stuck with the original call to allow the decision. The club have now been hauled up on an Improper conduct charge has of the team.

The incident involved five players or more sparking the sanction. The club have been fined €7000.
