Peter Haring's red card against St Mirren has been downgraded to a yellow, meaning the midfielder can feature against Aberdeen this weekend.

The Austrian was sent off by ref David Dickinson on 77 minutes during Saturday’s Scottish Premiership clash with St Mirren. He was adjudged to have stopped Buddies star Mark O’Hara break away with a foul and was shown a straight red which perplexed the Gorgie club who were wondering why VAR didn't ask the man in the middle to review it.

The club confirmed they would appeal it and a club statement has announced they have won their fight with the red card downgraded.

A Hearts statement reads: "The club can confirm that Peter Haring's red card has been reduced to a caution following a Hampden hearing.
