Paralympics 2024 Day 2 LIVE: Day 2 of the Paris Paralympics 2024 brings renewed hope for India to open their medal tally.

Headlined by Tokyo gold medal-winning shooter Avani Lekhara's qualification round and possible final, four others will also gun for shooting medals today.

India are also harbouring hopes in three para athletics events: Jyoti Karam and Sakshi Kasana in women's discus throw, Preethi Pal in women's 100m and Manu in men's shot put.

Another Paralympics is in the books — but certainly one not soon to be forgotten.
India's campaign at the Paris Paralympics 2024 concluded with the country fetching a total of 29 medals. On Sunday, Pooja Ojha was the only remaining athlete in action, but she failed to finish inside the top three spots to miss the final berth of the women's kayak single 200m KL1 sprint canoeing event. India, hence, couldn't reach the elusive 30-medal mark at the Paris Games but did manage to better the Tokyo Games tally where the contingent had gathered a total of 19 medals. In the process, India finished the Paris games with record haul of seven gold, nine silver, and 13 bronze medals, set to finish 18th in the overall medals tally.

High jumper Praveen Kumar, shooter Avani Lekhara, javelin thrower Sumit Antil, archer Harvinder Singh, badminton star Nitesh Kumar and club thrower Dharambir Nain are the stars who bagged the top honour for India. Paralympics 2024 LIVE Updates: Indian athlete and reigning world champion Simran advanced to the semi-final of the Women's 200m T12 event at Paris Paralympics. Simran, accompanied by his guide Abhay Singh, topped her heat with a timing of 25.41s.
India's Schedule At Paris Paralympics 2024, September 6: India's charge towards the 30-medal mark at the Paralympics 2024 is going strong. Friday all eyes will be on athletics with several medals on offer.  Dipesh Kumar (Men's Javelin Throw F54 Final), Praveen Kumar (Men's High Jump T64 Final), Bhavanaben Ajabaji Chaudhary (Women's Javelin Throw F46 Final), Soman Rana and Hokato Hotozhe Sema (Men's Shot Put F57 Final) will be eyeing medals. In para-powerlifting, Kasthuri Rajamani will be in action in women's 67kg final.
Paris Paralympics 2024 Live Updates Day 8: The Indian contingent will look to take the medal tally past the 25-mark at the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024 on Thursday. The action will get under with the Mixed 50m Rifle Prone SH1 qualification where Sidhartha Babu and Mona Agarwal will be in action. In Mixed Team Recurve Open (Pre Quarterfinals), Pooja and Harvinder Singh will eye medal. Later in the day, India's Ashok will take part in Men's up to 65kg powerlifting final. In men's shot put, Arvind will also lead India's charge in the F35 final.
