Manchester United's links with PSG winger Neymar have come firmly out of left field. After parting company with Cristiano Ronaldo in November after his controversial interview with Piers Morgan, it seems odd Erik ten Hag would entertain the idea of looking at the Brazilian.
During his spell in the French capital, Neymar's attitude has been called into question and it is fair to say he has endured a tumultuous relationship with the PSG fans.
When asked in his pre-Chelsea press conference whether he would be looking at a move for Neymar, Ten Hag responded: "When we have news we will tell you." His apparent cryptic response is actually a stock answer and United figures have dismissed the prospect of signing the 31-year-old. The roles have been reversed. For Neymar, a transfer to Old Trafford would be a favourable move. Thursday night's qualification for the Champions League will allow the Brazilian to compete in the competition he loves and there is also an abundance of players at the club he already knows.
