Manchester United takeover latest as Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe 'frustrated by Glazers'

It is now more than eight months since the beginning of Manchester United takeover saga and it shows no sign of coming to an end any time soon.

The Glazer family announced last November the start of a process to "explore strategic alternatives" in terms of the ownership of the Old Trafford club.

It raised the prospect of the club being sold to fresh owners. Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe remain in the frame to take over, although the Glazers staying with fresh investment has also not been ruled out.
