Albion Rovers will on Saturday give a ‘punter’ a chance to see if he can do the manager’s job in their Lowland League clash at home to Hearts ‘B’.

Well, it’s no ordinary supporter, but Hibs supporter Duncan McKay, who will be filming a ‘Put a Shift In’ segment of BBC Scotland’s popular ‘A View from the Terrace’.

It’s a serious game in the Lowland League, with three points at stake, and in front of a crowd at Cliftonhill. McKay has ‘helped’ out at several clubs, including Caledonian Braves, for the show, but he has absolutely zero managerial experience.

He told BBC Scotland: “In one way it’s thrilling, in the other, it’s terrifying. “We’ve certainly all had managers of our clubs where we’re left thinking ‘even I could do a job there, I could get a better tune out of them’, but in reality we probably know we’re never going to have to test that. “I think it’s going to be a small insight into, actually, it’s possibly a lot more difficult than everyone thinks.” Rovers’ stint in the SPFL came to an end two seasons ago, and Sandy Clark is trying to steer the Coatbridge club back up to League Two.
