Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been named in the 2022/23 UEFA Europa League Team of the Season. United were beaten in the quarter-finals of the Europa League by Sevilla after surrendering a two-goal advantage in the first leg of the tie at Old Trafford, a draw which was followed by a disastrous performance in the reverse fixture.
Although they crashed out at the quarter-final stage, Rashford still managed to finish the Europa League campaign as the joint-top goalscorer in the competition and that has earned him a place in the Team of the Season. Chris Smalling and Nemanja Matic, who left United on a free transfer last summer, were both included in the team alongside Rashford after their side Roma, managed by Jose Mourinho, finished as runners-up.
