Manchester United are ‘really interested’ in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. Bringing in a new source of goals appears to be high up on manager Erik ten Hag’s to-do list ahead of the new season, and the talented 19-year-old could be the player tasked with spearheading the revolution at Old Trafford.
The Manchester Evening News have revealed that United’s football director John Murtough met Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic to evaluate the possibility of a transfer for his client.
Previous reports had claimed that several clubs from across the continent, including Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, were also assessing the Slovenia international’s situation.
It’s believed that Salzburg value Sesko at around £55 million after he found the back of the net on 10 occasions last season (taking his career tally up to 45) while setting up a further seven strikes as he fired his side to a domestic double.
