Manchester United are keen on signing Borussia Monchengladbach vice-captain Yann Sommer, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth. Erik ten Hag finally got his first victory as Red Devils boss against Liverpool on Monday, but the Dutchman still has plenty of work to do before the transfer window closes, with a number two goalkeeper still on his radar.
According to outlet Blick, United are interested in signing the 74-cap Switzerland international, with Ten Hag believed to be in the market for someone to provide competition and cover for David de Gea.
The report claims the Old Trafford outfit are debating whether to launch a bid for the 33-year-old and have had ‘internal discussions’ with the Borussia Monchengladbach star.
Sommer is out of contract next summer, but transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that he’s been offered a three-year deal by the Bundesliga outfit.
