Man fighting for life after crash involving pedal bike and lorry near Manchester Piccadilly

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after a crash involving a pedal bike and a lorry near Manchester Piccadilly on Wednesday afternoon (May 24).

Police and paramedics attended the scene on Fairfield Street at around 1.30pm, where a man in his 30s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries that are believed to be life-threatening.

The busy main road was closed off near to the inner ring road at Pin Mill Brow for a number of hours as officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit carried out enquires at the scene. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community Constable Oliver Batty from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are appealing to members of public and other motorists who may have been travelling along Fairfield Street at the time of this collision. “It is an extremely busy area of Manchester and any information, no matter how small, may assist the investigation.
