Nathan Ake was reduced to tears as he left the field on a stretcher in the first half of the Netherlands' Nations League clash with Germany.
The 29-year-old defender appeared to suffer a non-contact injury in the final minutes of the first half of Tuesday's game at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Ake was supported by Liverpool's Cody Gakpo and Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen before being attended to by the Dutch medical team.
The sight of the former Chelsea and Bournemouth defender departing the field on a stretcher will be of huge concern for Pep Guardiola just days ahead of City's Premier League clash against Brentford.
