Firefighters are tackling a large blaze in Stretford this evening. They were called out to a large fire just after 9pm on Wednesday evening.

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 9pm on Wednesday 19 April, firefighters were called out to a large fire involving two commercial units containing a number of vehicles and machinery on Bradley Lane, Stretford. “Several fire engines, a hose laying lorry and a hydraulic platform from across Greater Manchester are in attendance and firefighters are tackling the fire with a Scorpion appliance.

The fire is ongoing and is creating a large amount of smoke, so we are advising people in the area to please keep windows and doors closed.” Our reporter is currently at the scene.
