Former Manchester United target Leon Goretzka could be back on their radar after being omitted from Bayern Munich's squad. Bayern kicked off their season with a 4-0 win over Ulm in the DFB-Pokal last Friday, but manager Vincent Kompany excluded the German international from the matchday squad.
The Bayern coach chose not to divulge details about Goretzka's situation, saying: "As a club, we always want to be clear with the players, that is the reality.
We do that internally within our family. We don't need to say anything publicly." However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggested that it will be communicated to Goretzka that he isn't expected to be a regular starter under Kompany this term, which might prompt him to seek regular playing time elsewhere.
