MUNICH, Germany : Leaders Bayern Munich suffered a shock 3-1 home loss to RB Leipzig on Saturday, leaving their title hopes hanging in the balance ahead of the last match day and offering rivals Borussia Dortmund the chance to overtake them on Sunday.The Bavarians went ahead with Serge Gnabry but inexplicably took their foot off the gas and conceded three goals in the second half through Konrad Laimer and penalties from Christopher Nkunku and Dominik Szoboszlai.Bayern remain in top spot on 68 points with Dortmund, on 67, in action at Augsburg on Sunday.

A win would see the Ruhr valley club go into next week's season finale in the driving seat.Leipzig's first ever win in Munich guarantees them third place and a Champions League spot next season.

RB Leipzig defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in the DFB-Pokal final to lift the trophy for the second successive season, with Christopher Nkunku playing a starring role. The best chance of a tense first half fell to Timo Werner in the fourth minute, but the striker could muster only a tame effort which was easily saved after being slipped one-on-one by Dominik Szoboszlai at the end of a rapid counter-attack. Ad Frankfurt improved after the break and found themselves in the ascendancy.

A Christopher Nkunku-inspired RB Leipzig won their second straight German Cup title on Saturday, beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in Berlin. A year after scoring a second-half goal which sent the 2022 final to penalties, Nkunku broke the deadlock after 71 minutes, his low shot taking a deflection and into the goal against the run of play. A shellshocked Frankfurt, who had the better of the second half looked to equalise but Leipzig scored again, Dominik Szoboszlai sweeping in an Nkunku pass on the counter.
