Jose Mourinho took matters into his own hands and did his own VAR check in Roma’s Europa League clash with Real Betis on Thursday evening.

Roma were in desperate need of a victory going into the match in Spain. Prior to the game, Roma were positioned third in Group C having won once and lost twice in their opening three matches.

They fell behind at the Benito Villamarín Stadium as Sergio Canales gave the home side the lead with a deflected strike from 25 yards in the 34th minute.

Mourinho would have wanted a response from his side after the break and he got just that as Roma were level eight minutes into the second half.
