Forecasters predict the weather will stay mainly dry in Greater Manchester this weekend - amid a number of thunderstorm warnings for other parts of the UK.
A yellow thunderstorm warning issued by the Met Office is set to come into force at 12pm today (Friday) and last until 8pm. It warns of 'thunderstorms and heavy showers causing disruption' in some areas across the Midlands, in London, East of England, South East, South West and Wales.
Another thunderstorm warning will then come into force at 1am on Saturday morning and last the entire day, with a large of part of Wales, the South West and areas in the Midlands covered by the alert.
Some parts of Cheshire and Merseyside are also covered by this storm warning, but forecasters predict the rainy weather will largely miss Greater Manchester.
