East Kilbride Thistle kids have a ball at Showpark showcase

dailyrecord.co.uk

East Kilbride Thistle hope they have created a new young following after their Showpark showcase on Saturday. The Jags had been running free football camps over the summer for 5-12 year-olds and at the weekend the kids who took part were invited down to the Village venue to show off their skills and pick up certificates to recognise their achievements.

Youngsters also mixed with members of the first team squad, including Barry Russell, Jamie Longworth and manager Garry O’Hanlon.

They had some fantastic fun in the sun as they played mini games on the Showpark pitch and showed the players what they had learned during their summer sessions.

And O’Hanlon hopes the kids will keep coming back after they also cheered them on during a 2-2 draw with Ardrossan Winton Rovers following the showcase.
