Canada drops 2nd straight at men's hockey worlds after shootout loss to Norway

Thomas Olsen scored the shootout winner to complete Norway's 3-2 upset over Canada at the men's world hockey championship on Monday.

Norway built a two-goal advantage through Andreas Martinsen and Sondre Olden. Canada answered thanks to Milan Lucic midway through the middle period.

Lawson Crouse then scored with 12 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. Jonas Arntzen made 31 saves in the Norwegian net, while Joel Hofer turned away 21 shots for Canada.

It was only Canada's second loss to Norway in tournament history; the other was in 2000. WATCH l Canada has no answers for Norway in shootout loss: Canada, which is third in Group B, has now suffered two straight defeats after losing 3-2 in regulation to group leaders Switzerland on Saturday.

The under-construction international cricket stadium at Narsingarh in Tripura could become Kolkata Knight Riders' second home ground for the 2025 IPL season since the iconic Eden Garden in Kolkata is set for a massive makeover next year, a Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) official said on Friday. The construction at the international stadium at Narsingarh began way back in 2017 with an estimated cost of Rs. 185 crore but the stadium is not yet ready. "IPL chairman Arun Kumar Dhumal recently visited the proposed international stadium at Narsingarh on the outskirts of the state capital. He said if the stadium's is ready before February next year, it could be made second home ground of KKR or some else other state will get the benefit," TCA secretary Subarta Dey told PTI.
