Adam Idah shrugs off Celtic transfer fee as Kyogo is warned over his main man status

Adam Idah insists he’s not returned to Celtic to play back-up - but to be the Hoops’ number one striker. The £8.5m hitman became the club’s second most expensive player of all time when he clinched a permanent move to Parkhead from Norwich City this week.

And he says the weight of the hefty fee doesn’t faze him as he looks to build on his impressive five-month loan deal last season.

Idah’s fee could rise to £9.5m in add-ons as he vies with Hoops talisman Kyogo for the starting role up front. But the only thing on the Ireland international’s mind is picking up from where he left off last season and ensuring he scores the goals that make him main man for his boyhood heroes.

He said: “Yes, of course. I think the majority of players don't go to a club and think, I'm just going to sit there. "Obviously, I want to do the best for myself.
