Ylber Ramadani 'chooses' Lecce as Aberdeen FC transfer interest sees Verona tussle ramp up after social media hint

Ylber Ramadani could be on the way out of Aberdeen, with the Albanian reportedly 'choosing' his preferred destination.

The midfielder sparked concern among Dons fans when after a friendly victory in London over Charlton Athletic, the 27-year-old handed over the majority of his Aberdeen kit in to the away end. It heightened fears that the Pittodrie outfit could lose one of their star men who joined under Jim Goodwin in June last year. He signed a three-year deal but now could be on the way out of Scotland with interest ramping up.

Two Serie A sides in Lecce and Verona seem to be engaging in a transfer tussle for the midfielder, with Sky Sports Italy reporter Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that Ramadani has set his sights on Lecce despite Aberdeen reportedly receiving a 'higher' offer from Hellas instead. The Apulian side, according to the report, are looking to sew up a deal soon, with a potential valuation of around £850,000 floated.

Ramadani also sparked a social media pile-on when his Twitter account liked a tweet from the same reporter linking him with a move. But boss Barry Robson looked to allay fears after the friendly win at the weekend, claiming: "There is always a lot of speculation around a lot of our players. Until anything happens – and nothing is happening right now – you can say that about a lot of players. I was just glad the fans were watching a team today that was fast and aggressive and really wanted to run for their club.

"I will let you know when anything is happening with Ramadani. All right? He’s a flying machine and we just rested him up again today. He will be good to go against Livingston next week."
