WWE Extreme Rules: 10 best hardcore spots in history
WWE is set to get extreme this weekend with October’s premium Live Event, Extreme Rules taking place this Saturday night.
In contrast to years gone by, when the stipulation matches had become somewhat diluted, the 2022 show is stacked with bouts glued together by ‘extreme’ gimmicks.
So, what better time to roll back the years and look back at WWE’s most extreme spots? Here comes the money….

Kalisto
Ladder Match v The Usos and The New Day
TLC 2015
Kicking us off before we navigate mostly through the attitude era, is this crazy ladder spot from Kalisto during a Triple Threat Tag Team Table Match with The Usos and The New Day.
Whereas a lot of the spots to come were all about fears over height and landing, this manoeuvre came with the added danger of making sure the move was spot on for it to work, and work safely.
With Kalisto and Jimmy Uso at the top of the ladder, the luchador hit his signature Salida Del Sol on the tag team star, which lifted Jimmy over the ladder backwards and down in a ‘powerbomb’ motion through another ladder that had been propped-up on the ropes.
It’s one of those spots that you have to watch again and again to get your mind round what you just saw. Expertly timed, with maximum impact.

Jeff Hardy
TLC v Edge
WrestleMania X7
A moment that will live on WrestleMania showreels forever, between two members of two teams that defined an era and birthed their own gimmick match in the legacy.
Jeff Hardy of the Hardy Boys and the Edge to Edge and Christian, along with the Dudley Boyz, made a TLC thing through their two chaotic clashes in 2000, but it’s the future Hall of Famer’s almighty spear that is the lasting image.
