Wrexham v Barnet: Dragons return to league action after stunning Stockport victory

Wrexham AFC return to league action tomorrow night (Tuesday 7.45pm) as they welcome Barnet to the Racecourse. The Dragons currently trail league leaders Stockport County by 11 points, albeit with a game in hand.

Phil Parkinson's men emerged victorious from Saturday's FA Trophy semi final clash with rivals Stockport as Paul Mullin scored a late brace to ensure the Dragons will visit Wembley for the first time since 2015. Wrexham will be hoping that the win will land a psychological blow to County ahead of the season's run-in as the Reds continue their quest for a Trophy and promotion double.

Opponents Barnet arrive at the Racecourse having endured an indifferent season, with the Bees languishing in 16th place. Wrexham were comfortable winners the last time the two sides met as the Reds won 3-0 at The Hive.

After Stockport County perhaps shaded the first half on Saturday, Reds manager Phil Parkinson noted that his side quite often improve in the second half, especially against the stronger sides. He said: "I feel like we do get better in the second half, we were just a little bit careless in possession in the first half.

"We didn't have as much control as usual in the first half. But second half we came out and we created some really good chances.

"I thought the save from Jordan Davies was outstanding, the keeper has made an excellent save. Great response in the second half, first half they had a couple of scrambled efforts towards the end of the half but I thought it was even - but second half I felt we deserved the win."
