Wrexham 4-0 Altrincham: Dragons dominant in front of five-figure Racecourse crowd

Wrexham AFC extended their unbeaten run to 15 games as they blew away visitors Altrincham with a fine first half display. The Dragons had Jordan Davies, Ollie Palmer and a Paul Mullin double to thank as they continued their pursuit of National League leaders Stockport County with another dominant performance.

Over 10,000 people were present to see the battle of the two Phil Parkinsons but it was the home version who was happiest at full time as he celebrated his 850th match in football management with a comprehensive victory. His side remain seven points behind Stockport but with six games left to go there is still plenty to play for at the summit of non league's top flight.

Wrexham started the brighter of the two sides and got their reward after only two minutes when a Ben Tozer long throw found its way to Jordan Davies who made no mistake, dispatching the ball into the bottom corner to put the Reds 1-0 up. The home side nearly doubled their lead after 12 minutes when James Jones went through on goal only for the visiting keeper Thompson to get a hand to his lobbed effort.

The Dragons did find themselves two up in the 28th minute however when Paul Mullin headed in a Luke Young corner and the majority of the 10,000 present were in raptures. Altrincham looked like the proverbial rabbits in the headlights by this point and it was no real surprise that Wrexham made it four after 35 minutes when Reece Hall-Johnson made a terrific darting run down the right flank before squaring the ball
