In short, 40 teams from across Asia have qualified for the group stages of the competition. These teams have been split down the middle into East and West Asia sections.
East and West Asia teams will not face each other until the final. Each section of the draw has been split into four pots consisting of five clubs.
Like the UEFA Champions League, the groups will be made up of one team from each of pots one, two, three and four. This means, no team from the same pot can be in the same group.
