Bruno Fernandes told Manchester United's players they were 'doing everything they could to defend their box' when speaking during half-time against Manchester City.
United had a 1-0 lead at the break in the Manchester derby on Sunday afternoon thanks to a beautiful goal from Marcus Rashford, which stunned the Etihad into silence.
However, the stadium came alive when Phil Foden equalised in the second half and wild scenes ensued when he scored another with 10 minutes remaining. City created plenty of chances and their comeback did not come as a surprise, with United facing waves of pressure.

Erling Haaland scored in added time to claim a 3-1 victory for Pep Guardiola's side and United's defeat represented a huge blow to their hopes of securing a top four finish.
United defended well in the first half but City's pressure took its toll and they deserved the victory. "Obviously, it's disappointing. I think we could have got something from the game and I think the effort from the team was there, everyone tried really hard to get the result," Fernandes told MUTV.
"But it wasn't possible. I said at half-time I felt the team were doing everything we could to defend our box. We knew at moments that we would have to defend deep, be together and compact, help each other, and we did it.
"But as I said before in previous interviews, I think the difference today was the individual quality from City players that made them win this game.
