Westbound A40 at Pensarn closed due to collision - latest updates

The westbound A40 in Pensarn, Carmarthenshire has been forced to close due to a collision, reports the Inrix traffic management system.

The stretch of road in question runs between the junctions of the A4242 (Pontlesneven Roundabout, Pensarn) and the B4298 (Merthyr).

Traffic is affected heading away from Carmarthen towards St Clears.

On the eastbound carriageway, meanwhile, lane two (of two) is also closed.

Two vehicles are involved in the collision.

The incident was first reported at 11:15pm on Saturday (February 5).

Inrix said: "A40 Westbound closed due to accident, two vehicles involved from A4242 (Pontlesneven Roundabout, Pensarn ) to B4298 (Merthyr).

"Affecting traffic heading away from Camarthen towards St Clears. Lane two (of two) is also closed Eastbound."
