West Ham have £22m 'phenomenon' on shortlist at London Stadium

West Ham United have ‘tracked’ Clube Brugge forward Noa Lang ‘for a long time’ amid recent speculation surrounding his future, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Belgium giants in recent months following a string of impressive performances and could finally depart in January.

A recent report from Italian outlet Calciomercato claimed that West Ham have joined reigning Serie A champions AC Milan and La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in the race for Lang’s signature.

Over the summer, the Netherlands international declared that he is going to leave Club Brugge and seek a new challenge ahead of the current campaign with Leeds United at the front of the queue for his signature.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted back in July that Lang had ‘good chances’ to seek pastures new before outlining his price tag.

“Noa Lang has good chances to leave Club Brugge this summer. Things are now moving with a host of top league clubs interested in signing him, with potential price tag around €20/25m (£17.3m/£21.6m).”

And Romano went on to state that he believes Lang is ‘underrated’ and was ‘on the list of Leeds’ alongside other top teams from across the continent.

Jones has disclosed that Lang is a player who has been on West Ham’s radar for some time now and that they contemplated making a move for him in the previous transfer window.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “I didn’t see the exact link, but I know that he has been on their list.

“He was over the summer for sure, I know that there was a potential they would go for him, and they decided not to.
