West Ham: £31m star 'bouncing off atmosphere' at London Stadium

West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca is a “really useful player” to have, says journalist Dean Jones.

The Italian joined the Hammers during the summer and has been among the goals of late, and Jones thinks he is bouncing off the atmosphere at the London Stadium.

Scamacca made a bit of a slow start in the Premier League, but the 23-year-old will be pleased with his performances this month.

He has already helped West Ham to two home victories, scoring in games against Wolves and Fulham.

Scamacca has also performed well in the Europa Conference League overall, registering four goals in the competition so far, including qualifiers.

For €36m (£31m), in this current market, the former Sassuolo man is looking like a good piece of business done by the Hammers.

Jones has been impressed with what he has seen from Scamacca so far.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: "Scamacca seems so motivated to be a success. I mean, he's working hard. Even when things don't come off for him, he's trying hard to go again and make things happen.

"He's a really useful player. He's bouncing off the atmosphere, too. I think he's just loving life in the Premier League and being at this level."

As of now, yes. The Italy international has been finding the back of the net, which has helped West Ham to climb the table and secure positive results in Europe.

It is a long season, though, so even if Scamacca does become David Moyes' No.1 forward, you would still expect Michail Antonio to get plenty of game time.
