West Ham: £22m star now profiting from 'good Moyes management' at London Stadium
West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen has benefitted after ‘a good bit of management from David Moyes’ has allowed him to show signs that he is close to rediscovering his best form at the London Stadium, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Hammers may have spent more than £160million during the summer transfer window, which closed last month, but the winger has remained a key component of Moyes’ plans.
Bowen has missed just five minutes of Premier League action since the season got underway, but he suffered a major setback last month.
Despite being called up by England boss Gareth Southgate for the Nations League clashes with Italy and Germany, the 25-year-old was not given the opportunity to add to his four caps.
Bowen sustained an even bigger blow when he was left out of the Three Lions’ matchday squad for the latter contest, leading to question marks over whether he will be heading to the World Cup in Qatar.
Although he was snubbed by Southgate, the wide-man retained his starting spot as West Ham took on Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend and he repaid Moyes’ faith by scoring in the 2-0 win.
Bowen did have a worrying moment within the Premier League fixture though, as he picked up a nasty-looking finger injury.
Sheth believes Moyes should be praised for keeping Bowen in his starting line-up following his disappointment on international duty.
The Sky Sports reporter feels the former Hull City man is starting to show glimpses of the form he enjoyed last season, when he tallied 31 goal contributions.
Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “You could see it as a good bit of management from Moyes because when he was being criticised, this was three or four games ago, Moyes publicly said Jarrod Bowen is starting to show
