Vinicius Jr's message to Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho after Real Madrid game

Alejandro Garnacho added another superstar shirt to his collection on Thursday after meeting with Vinicius Jr. in the aftermath of Manchester United's 2-0 defeat by Real Madrid.

Goals from Jude Bellingham and Joselu bookended the 90 minutes to hand the United senior team their first defeat of pre-season at the NRG Stadium in Houston. That came less than 24 hours after a younger side lost to Wrexham in San Diego.

The meeting with Madrid was quite fiery for a pre-season friendly, with Bellingham and Lisandro Martinez coming to blows in the first-half - although it was forgotten quickly. But by full-time, players from both sides came together and showed plenty of respect.

Young Reds winger Garnacho shared a lovely moment with Vinicius after full-time, with the Madrid star handing his opponent a signed shirt. The 19-year-old posted a picture of the pair together alongside the caption: "Good to see you, brother! I'm going to have a great day at @vinijr".

From the picture, it can be seen that Vinicius wrote 'Para mi hermano' which means 'for my brother' in Portuguese. He then describes the United starlet as 'el crack' which is a slang term used to describe a superstar player.

Garnacho was handed his first start of pre-season on Thursday, with Erik ten Hag deploying the teenager on the left with Marcus Rashford upfront. The Argentinian looked as direct as ever before coming off as one of several changes around the hour mark.
