Manchester United player Alejandro Garnacho still has two factors on his side after Wolves disappointment

Manchester United defeated Wolves 1-0 on Monday night but for the most part, struggled to gain momentum or control the game.

Loose passes and poor decision-making led to Wolves being able to overturn the ball on numerous occasions. In attack, Erik ten Hag’s side struggled to create clear-cut chances. With the starting frontmen being Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford through the middle the attack posed the threat of pace in behind.

However, Wolves were able to be compact in defence, force United to recycle the ball back to their deeper players and spring a press through their Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha on numerous occasions. With a lack of flow to United’s play the attack was disjointed and possession was lost frequently by all three attackers.

Garnacho struggled against the impressive Nelson Semedo on the left wing for the Red Devils. Due to his impressive rise to the United squad, it is easy to forget that Garnacho was given just his sixth start in the Premier League by Ten Hag on Monday night. His performance was a reminder that United fans need to be patient with the young Argentine.
