David Beckham's stance on a return to Manchester United

David Beckham has admitted any involvement with Manchester United in the future would 'mean the world to him'.

Beckham was born in London, but his family were supporters of United and he eventually joined the club's youth ranks to become part of the famous Class of '92, alongside Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Phil Neville.

He became an established star at Old Trafford and he made almost 400 appearances for the club, winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League before leaving for Real Madrid in 2003.

Beckham spent four years in Madrid and he subsequently enjoyed spells with LA Galaxy, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. He retired from playing in 2013 and a year later, he exercised his option to buy an MLS expansion team for $25 million.

Inter Miami played their first game in 2020 and Beckham is a proud co-owner of the club, who he helps with recruitment. The new MLS side recently signed Lionel Messi and the deal is a significant moment for football in the USA.

In an interview with The Athletic reflecting on Inter Miami's business this summer, Beckham also discussed the possibility of having any role at Old Trafford in the future and he left the door open to being involved again.

Although Beckham said he's currently got a lot on his plate, he admitted any role at United 'would mean the world to him'.

“I have a lot going on here at the moment and my focus has purely been on Miami and everything that goes on,” Beckham said. “But I haven’t been approached and I suppose any involvement with Manchester United would mean the world to me going forward.
