Victor Osimhen likely destination revealed as Manchester United plan Erik ten Hag talks

Saudi Arabian clubs are likely to lead the charge for Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen in January, according to reports. Controversial videos were uploaded to the Serie A champions’ TikTok account appearing to mock the £120million-rated striker, one bizarrely poking fun at Osimhen - linked with a move to Manchester United - for missing a penalty.

A second video referenced Osimhen as a “coconut” - widely considered a racial slur. The 24-year-old’s agent Roberto Calenda is reportedly threatening legal action following the fall-out.

United were rumoured to be targeting the Nigerian before signing Norwegian youngster Rasmus Hojlund. While fans will be hoping for a more experienced striker to join the ranks, the Daily Mail are reporting that Osimhen is likely to join a Saudi Pro League club.

Elsewhere, 90min is claiming United chiefs are about to open talks with Erik ten Hag over an improved contract. Despite only being appointed 15 months ago, the report suggests the Dutchman has done enough to impress the club's hierarchy.

Ten Hag finished third in his debut campaign while also lifting the Carabao Cup, a season widely viewed as a step in the right direction. But a mixed start to 2023-24 has raised questions about what United can achieve this year and, in some quarters, whether Ten Hag is the long-term answer.

In May, the 53-year-old will have just a year left on his contract. Those calling the shots at Old Trafford - especially chief executive Richard Arnold - reportedly back Ten Hag as the right man to lead the club forward.
