Ubisoft set to reveal 'future of Assassin's Creed' later this year

Ubisoft will unveil the “future of Assassin’s Creed” in September, Ubisoft has revealed, as per Gamesradar.

The news outlet reports that the company teased the event during Assassin’s Creed 15th anniversary event which took place earlier this week.

It remains to be seen what exactly will be revealed in September but the likelihood is that there will be a new game revealed.

It could well be a sequel to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which was the most recent mainline entry in the franchise.

However, there could also be a reveal of a new Assassin’s Creed game with an entirely different setting and story.

There is no specific date for the September event but it is happening in 2022, and it is likely that will be announced soon.

Gamesradar reports that there could be an appearance from Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which is confirmed to be in development. That is a live-service project.

It is said to focus on following the likes of Fortnite and Grand Theft Auto V, in terms of keeping players locked into a multiplayer mode for some time.

It is set to feature multiple settings and is being developed by a large team that partners Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Quebec. It is not yet clear exactly when the game will release but it could be revealed later this year.

Ubisoft has also unveiled new updates that are coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with the game set to receive a roguelite mode that is called Forgotten Saga. It will take players to Niflheim to fight a number of magical enemies.

Ubisoft also says that it will “reveal the last episode of Eivor’s story as a free chapter for all players as well”.

We’ll let you know as soon as we hear any more information.
