Halo 3: Gamers take over cinema to play classic FPS

Haven’t we all dreamed of playing the best games we own on the biggest screen possible?

It’s often a pipe dream but we’re sure that we’ve all imagined playing a game like FIFA or Call of Duty on a giant cinema screen, surrounded by a group of mates, and with plenty of popcorn and Ice Blasts on hand.

And we are absolutely not alone in that fantasy.

Indeed, a new Instagram post from House of Gaming has shown off that a group of mates did exactly this, by managing to hire out a cinema to play Halo 3. It is implied that the manager did them a favour for this, and it isn’t clear if they paid a fee for it.

The video shows them getting the Xbox set up and then jumping into a huge four-player multiplayer game, all the while relaxing in what appear to be Imax recliner seats.

You even get to hear the iconic Halo theme boom over the speakers, while the gunplay also comes out of the giant surround sound system.

It isn’t really a thing in England to be able to rent out theatres for your own personal use but we’ve got to say that we would absolutely love for it to become the case.

Halo, of course, is one of the most cinematic first-person shooters out there, bringing with it epic battles on a huge scope and it really does seem to belong on a giant cinema screen.

Don’t worry, if we receive word that Odeon and Cineworld cinemas are set to open up their theatres for this kind of thing, we’ll be the first to let you know but we aren’t holding our breath.

Still, imagine how awesome it would be. We can all keep dreaming.
