Two Alejandro Garnacho moments gave Manchester United a reality check vs Tottenham
We're only two matches into the new season, and yet it is already feeling rather a lot like the last. Manchester United have scraped an unconvincing win at home and been brushed aside against a traditional rival away from home.
Just like last season, Erik ten Hag will be expecting an upturn in fortunes after a tricky opening two games, though, just like last season, it might soon become apparent that United are already fighting to be 'best of the rest' again.
Another harsh reality is that Alejandro Garnacho might not quite be ready for a regular starting role just yet. The 19-year-old is one of the most exciting young talents in world football, though his performances in the first two matches of the season were a reminder that his enormous potential still has to be fulfilled.

It is testament to both his hard work and talent that Garnacho was given starts against Wolves and Tottenham instead of more senior options, but he might have to wait a while longer before he takes to the pitch again from the start.
Garnacho was fortunate to keep his place for the trip to Tottenham after he had struggled against Wolves, and while he put in an improved performance, his decision-making let him down during a couple of key moments of the game.
