Bruno Fernandes faces big question and the Manchester United winners and losers after Tottenham loss
There was not much for Manchester United to celebrate as the Reds suffered a humbling 2-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.
Coming after an unconvincing victory over Wolves, United would have hoped to deliver a more coherent display against Spurs. Erik ten Hag’s side began well but faded after the interval as Pape Matar Sarr opened the scoring for the hosts and United's early belief ebbed away. A Lisandro Martinez own goal late on sealed the points for the home side.
Ten Hag will have to pick his players up after a less-than-ideal start to the season and quickly rediscover the confidence that saw the team end last season strongly. We run down the winners and losers from the defeat in north London.

Andre Onana
Looks to have made a seamless start to life in a United shirt.
The former Ajax and Inter Milan ‘keeper is a pillar of United’s commitment to build up from the back and his distribution was excellent once again against Spurs. He saved well when called upon but stood no real chance of stopping the goals.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
When a team faces tough times, reliable players become increasingly important. That is what Wan-Bissaka has become under Ten Hag. It was by no means a headline-grabbing performance by the right-back but his dependable display was in stark contrast to many of his team mates.
Jadon Sancho and Facundo Pellistri
The pair both came off the bench but both offered bright spots on a grey day. Sancho came on midway through the second half, while Pellistri was given a late cameo and the duo will have eyes on a starting spot after another blunt performance from United in attack.
