Tottenham: Paratici 'working away' at Hotspur Way amid Conte speculation

Tottenham Hotspur’s director of football Fabio Paratici will be ‘continuing to work away’ as normal despite the speculation surrounding Antonio Conte, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 52-year-old manager has been linked with a shock switch to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-German in recent weeks despite only succeeding Nuno Espirito Santo back in November.

According to French outlet Le Parisien, PSG are planning on ousting current boss Mauricio Pochettino despite reclaiming the Ligue 1 title with several games of the season to spare.

The Argentine saw his side knocked out of the Champions League in the round of last 16 by Real Madrid back in March, essentially sealing his fate after just 18 months at the helm.

And the same publication has claimed that Conte has offered his services to the Parc des Princes outfit as they begin their search for Pochettino’s replacement.

Conte’s long-term future at Spurs have been shrouded in doubt for several weeks now after he stated that he was ‘ready to go’ if the capital club’s issues on the pitch were down to him.

However, Tottenham remain in the hunt for a top-four finish with just four games of the season remaining and the Italian tactician has dismissed the links to PSG.

The Premier League title winner labelled the recent rumours “fake news”, but it remains to be seen if Conte stays to the end of his contract, which expires in the summer of 2023.

Paratici has already shown his ability to secure some astute acquisitions, bringing in Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus on deadline day in January.
