Tottenham: Conte will be 'given the tools' at Hotspur Way

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte will be “given the tools” to take the club to the next level, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The Italian led Spurs back into the Champions League following their 5-0 victory over Norwich on Sunday, and Bridge is confident the hierarchy will back Conte heavily in the transfer market.

Despite guiding Tottenham back into the Champions League, the ex-Juventus and Chelsea manager still dodged the question when asked whether he’ll still be in north London next season.

He said: “I’m under contract until next summer. I signed for one year and seven months. I enjoyed a lot my time at Tottenham because, I repeat, for me it was a big challenge.“

But since Conte declined to comment on whether he’ll be at the club beyond the summer, Spurs have announced that majority shareholder, ENIC have agreed to pump an extra £150m into the club, which is set to help matters both on and off the pitch.

Therefore, Bridge believes that Conte will be given the right tools to make Tottenham compete once again.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “He wants assurances but speaking to a couple of people yesterday and there were another couple of Spurs journalists who have had similar conversations with people at Tottenham, they’re all in complete agreement that Conte will be given the tools to push the club on.

“So, unless Daniel Levy gets into this room and says, ‘well you don’t need an awful lot, because you’ve got fourth with what you’ve got,’ but I don’t think that will happen.”

Despite the transfer window not opening until next month, Spurs are already on the verge of making their first signing.
