Tottenham: £27.5m star could now make Hotspur Way exit

Sergio Reguilon might have played his last game for Tottenham, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

Not only has the left wing-back has been linked with a return to Spain this summer but he’s also out injured and isn’t expected to play again this season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have keen keeping tabs on Reguilon’s situation, while he could also re-sign for Real Madrid, who included a £27.5m buy-back clause in the deal which saw him sign for Tottenham in the summer of 2020.

It’s been an underwhelming second season for the 25-year-old, who’s started just 22 top-flight matches and has fallen behind Ryan Sessegnon in the pecking order, which has significantly decreased his game-time.

As a result, Reguilon has only featured in eight of Spurs’ last 14 league fixtures, although various injuries have also played a part in his recent downfall.

Reguilon missed the games with Leicester and Arsenal and is set to sit out remaining fixtures with Burnley, and Norwich after Antonio Conte all-but confirmed that a groin injury will keep him out until next season.

Therefore, with his future also in doubt, Bridge hasn’t ruled out Tottenham fans having seen the last of Reguilon.

When asked whether the Spaniard might have played his last game for Tottenham, he told GIVEMESPORT: “I think there’s a possibility. This is all going to come down to the future of Antonio Conte and you’d assume that will be resolved after the end of the season.

“He’s obviously someone who has this clause, but do Real Madrid really want him back?”
