Tottenham: 'Exceptional' £45m star 'on Conte's radar' at Hotspur Way

Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma is on Tottenham‘s radar this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The £45m-rated Dutchman made the switch from Bournemouth last year and has caught the eye following his fine form for the Yellow Submarine.

According to 90min, Spurs sent club officials to watch Danjuma in Villarreal’s Champions League semi-final first leg tie with Liverpool earlier this month.

Unfortunately for the Netherlands international, he couldn’t help the Spanish outfit reach a first ever European Cup final, but it’s unlikely to overshadow what has been a fine first season since he left the Cherries.

Across all competitions, Danjuma, described as ‘exceptional‘ by ex-Bournemouth manager Jonathan Woodgate, has chipped in with 20 goal contributions, seven of which came in the Champions League, including strikes against Juventus and Bayern Munich.

As a result, while Jones believes the 25-year-old is on Fabio Paratici’s transfer list, he doesn’t think that he’s the calibre of player good enough to take Antonio Conte’s side to the next level.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “They’ve got Danjuma on their radar. He’s a good player, but I don’t believe that he’s going to increase the ceiling of what this Tottenham team can achieve, so I think this is one they will wait and see on.”

Spurs’ representatives would have travelled to Anfield with high expectations following some of Danjuma’s excellent performances in Europe this season.

However, they would have been underwhelmed with what they saw as Villarreal were comfortably brushed aside on Merseyside.
