Todd Cantwell channels Rangers superpowers as 'forcefield' sends St Johnstone star tumbling from 10 YARDS away

Todd Cantwell joked he's turned into a Power Ranger after sending St Johnstone star Daniel Phillips tumbling to the deck - from 10 yards away.

Rangers sailed out on their own at the top of the Premiership with a 3-0 win in Perth, Mohamed Diomande scoring his first goal in Light Blue before two late James Tavernier penalties sealed the points to send them two points clear. But it's one lesser-spotted incident during a first-half free-kick that has sent eagle-eyed fans into overdrive 24 hours on from the game.

As Tavernier goes out to take an outswinger from the right, Cantwell is seen producing a small white object before lobbing it harmlessly in Phillips' direction. The Saints midfielder sees it coming and stops it with his foot, but after a second to consider the situation, he throws himself to the floor.

Referee Matthew Macdermid had his back to the situation and nothing comes of it, Phillips miraculously recovering from the blow in record time. But while it passed by with minimal consequence during the game, fans - and Cantwell himself - have drawn attention to it in the aftermath.

One fan wrote on X alongside a clip: "Tell me I'm not the only one who noticed Todd Cantwell pull a mysterious ball from behind his ear, chuck it at Daniel Phillips, and the force field surrounding it, nearly knocks him to the ground." And Cantwell himself mischievously responded: "Maybe I’m a power ranger."
