Adama Sidibeh released from hospital after St Johnstone star collapsed against St Mirren

St Johnstone have confirmed that striker Adama Sidibeh has been released from hospital following his collapse in the aftermath of Saturday's match against St Mirren.

Immediately after the full-time whistle in the home side's 2-0 victory in Paisley, Gambian forward Sidibeh fell to the turf before medical teams from both sides came onto the pitch to attend to him. The 25-year-old was then taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, with the Saints issuing an update on his condition on Saturday evening.

And in a statement tonight, the Premiership club have confirmed that the player has now been sent home, and have thanked all the parties involved for their rapid medical response to Sibideh's condition. A club statement reads: "St Johnstone FC is pleased to confirm that Adama Sidibeh has been released from hospital and will now continue his recovery. As well as our own medical team, we would again like to place on record our thanks to the staff of St Mirren and to the staff at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

"Adama himself would like to thank everyone for the kind messages of support he has received over the past couple of days."
