Three positions vs Wolves will highlight Man United progress made since Erik ten Hag's first game
Erik ten Hag is set to begin his second season as Manchester United boss tonight when his side host Wolves at Old Trafford.
During Ten Hag’s tenure there have been significant changes made to the squad as the Dutchman moulds the club into his image.
The start of the Ten Hag era began with a 2- 1 defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford. The XI named that day and the XI that is expected for this evening’s opener shows the progress the ex-Ajax boss is making, and three positions in particular highlight the improvements made at the club.
Goalkeeper

Arguably the most distinct change in the United squad will be the goalkeeper position.
David de Gea was a senior member of the squad with 511 appearances. De Gea’s future became uncertain due to Ten Hag’s emphasis on the goalkeeper being able to play out from the back. With the Spaniard lacking in this department and prominent mistakes leading to goals it became clear a new goalkeeper was on the agenda.
With De Gea leaving the club, it is a new era between the posts at Old Trafford with Andre Onana signing for the club. Speaking to MUTV about the signing, Ten Hag said: “Nowadays, football also demands good playing from the back, out-playing qualities and that is a quality Andre has. He will help the squad to get to higher levels.”
Midfield
Pre-Ten Hag, a midfield pivot of Fred and Scott McTominay was a significant part of the United team. Fred completed his move to Fenerbahce last week. With the signing of Mason Mount, the prospect of another midfield signing, and the
