Three men have been charged over a number of burglaries in Bolton town centre.

Aiden Thompson, 18, has been charged with four burglaries; Malcolm Brocklehurst, 38, has been charged with three burglaries; and Andrew Knowles, 38, has been charged with one burglary. All men are of no fixed abode.

Officers say the charges relate to an investigation into burglaries in Bolton town centre in March of this year. The trio have been remanded into custody and will appear at Wigan and Leigh magistrates court tomorrow (Friday March 17).

Police Sergeant Sarah Dixon of Bolton’s Neighbourhood Priority Crime Team (NPCT) said: “Investigating burglaries is a priority for Greater Manchester Police, we will continue to take a proactive approach to this kind of crime in our communities.

“We will continue to work hard to fight crime and reduce the amount of burglaries, both personal and business, in Bolton.

Any information from the public relating to these types of offences assists us greatly, so I strongly urge anyone who has been the victim of a crime to report it to GMP via 101 or online via www.gmp.police.uk.”
