Man, 26, charged after police cordon off section of Piccadilly Gardens
A man has been charged after police were called to a 'stabbing' in Piccadilly Gardens.
Officers were called to the incident on Monday evening (April 3) at around 8pm. A 26-year-old man was arrested on the scene.
Mohamed Abdi has now been charged with affray and possession of a bladed article. The 26-year-old, of no fixed abode, will appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday).

In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "On Monday 3 April 2023 at around 8pm, officers were called to a report of a disturbance in Piccadilly Gardens. Officers arrived at the scene and a 26-year-old male was arrested.
"Mohamed Abdi (28/02/1997) of no fixed abode was charged with affray and possession of a bladed article. He will attend Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court court on Wednesday 5 April 2023.

GMP previously said a man was hurt but did not receive life-threatening injuries.
