Man, 27, and boy, 17, charged in connection with disturbance after man stabbed

Two people have been charged in connection with a 'disturbance' between a group of men in Salford.

Emergency services were called to the alleged incident on Kenyon Way at round 5.30pm on Thursday, March 23. A man was taken to hospital from the scene with serious injuries.

Police said he was believed to have suffered knife wounds. In an update issued today (March 20), police said Wesley Isbell has now been charged in connection with the 'disturbance'.

The 27-year-old, of Little Hulton, Salford, has been charged with making threats with a bladed article. He has also been charged with racially-aggravated public disorder and making threats with a bladed article in relation to an incident in September 2022 and making threats with a bladed article in relation to an incident on March 18 this year.

Isbell has been remanded into custody. He will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today.

A 17-year-old male has also been charged with the unlawful possession of Class A controlled drugs with intent to supply them, police said. Three men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in relation to the incident have been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. Detective Superintendent Ryan Davies, of GMP's Salford district, said: "We have made five arrests so far.

"However, this is still very much an active investigation and we are determined to identify the people involved in the incident that left a man with serious injuries. Initial enquiries suggest it was an isolated, targeted incident with no wider risk to the public.
