'We have to' - Lisandro Martinez sends message to Manchester United teammates and Erik ten Hag

Manchester United centre-back Lisandro Martinez believes the club can achieve great success under manager Erik ten Hag - but has warned that they must always maintain their hunger to win each and every game.

United have made significant strides under Ten Hag this season, winning their first trophy in six years while they are currently on course to secure a top-four finish. The club is also still competing in both the Europa League and the FA Cup, meaning they could end the season with three major trophies.

Although there have been bumps in the road this term, the most recent of which came just under a fortnight ago when they were thumped 7-0 by Liverpool, United have made significant improvements. Ten Hag has restored standards and the Reds have been given an identity again.

And for Martinez, who followed Ten Hag to Old Trafford from Ajax last summer, the Reds have what it takes to thrive under the Dutchman and add more silverware to their collection.

"I think he is a good, good coach with a really good mentality," Martinez told BT Sport. "He wants to win titles and I am sure, 100 per cent, that he will do that here in Manchester.

"The next step is to win everything at the club. We have to be ready for every game and we have to remain hungry to win every game."

Martinez has played a key role in United's resurrection this season, proving all of his doubters wrong in the process. He has become a cult hero and is adored by United's fans.
